The ancient tale of Shu, Noshu, and Shunoshu

Long before the earth and the heavens were created, the universe was a calm and orderly place. It was ruled by the wise Sho and his equally wise wife, Nu. Sho and Nu's reign was peaceful and prosperous. Their only folly was in concieving three children, Shu, Noshu, and Shunoshu. Being siblings, these three fought bitterly with each other and brought the universe to chaos. Sho and Nu watched helplessly as their beautiful creations were destroyed. Finally, both decided that their offspring had to be contained somehow. They created three kingdoms for their children, the earth, the sea, and the heavens. They then called forth their unruly children.
"Shu, Noshu, and Shunoshu, you three have made chaos of our universe," Sho said sternly. "It is clear that you must be separated."
"We have created three kingdoms, one for each of you," Nu explained. "Shu, as first born, you may choose first."
"I will have to think about this," Shu said. He went down to the planet his parents had created, and he flew in the sky, and he swam in the sea, and he dug in the earth, and three days later, he returned.
"I have decided," Shu announced to his parents and siblings. "I will rule the air, for it is free to roam whereever it may, and is forever siting above the sea and the earth."
"You have chosen wisely, my son," Sho said proudly. He turned to Noshu. "You must now choose from the three remaining domains."
"I will have to think about this," said Noshu. He went down to the planet his parents had created, and he swam in the sea and he dug in the earth, and two days later he returned.
"I have decided," Noshu announced to his parents and siblings. "I will rule the sea, for it is free in its movement and is never at peace."
"You have chosen wisely, my son," Sho said proudly. He looked at his daughter. "As last born, Shunoshu," he said. "I'm afraid you have no choice. You will rule the earth."
And so the three siblings descended onto the planet which was created for them. Almost as soon as they arrived, Shu began battering the waves and mountains with fierce gales, and Noshu battered the frail coastlines. Shunoshu had no weapons against her brothers. All she could do was hide deep in a cave. In this cave, Shunoshu found clay. From the clay she built plants. the plants dug their roots into the earth, and kept the wind from blowing it away, and the waves from washing it into the sea. Her brothers protested fiercely, but to no avail. The earth remained.
But Shunoshu in the end was no better than her brothers. She next made little animals, that liked to drink waterand breathe air. They lived with her and were her assistants. This really annoyed her brothers, but they were powerless to destroy the creatures, and because the sea and the sky are but air and water, they could not build their own servants. Then Shunoshu got mean. She built fish, which swam in the oceans, dirtying them up for Noshu. She built birds, which waved their wings in the face of Shu. She built her greatest creation of all, man. It grew and built cties and threw garbage in the water and smog in the air. Shunoshu was content. She had finally gotten her revenge.
