All the music on my computer I stole from my brother. There are a number of good reasons for this, number 1 being it's always a good idea to limit the number of people doing something illegal in one household if you can pull it off. Also, I'm just not a very picky music person. No, wait, I just don't know what's out there, I have very strange tastes, but there's lots of stuff I don't like. ANYWAY, lotsa times I'll be hanging out in Ray's room and chattin with 'im while he plays music on his puter (bad Raymond, don't steal music) and playing games. So, one of these times he's listening to a song that I happen to like, and it finds its way into my subconscious, at least I think that's what happened because one day I woke up with a song in my head that I couldn't recognize.
Finally, in a rare act of deperation, I asked Ray if he knew the song. He didn't, and there wasn't a thing like it on his hard drive.
I spent 2 days with a song stuck in my head that I wasn't even sure existed.
Then we went to the trivia match at Yale (click here for a brief summary) and we got there a little early, and there was only one other team there. One of the guys was playing on the piano. Now, this is dangerous, because when I hear accompaniment for a song I know, I am legally oblidged to sing along. Well, after Hey Jude and the opening to Come Sail Away, guess what song he played? You're absolutely right! At this point I thought I was going insane.
Well, today I ws convinced that the song must exist, either that or I needed some proof that I was insane, so I signed up for Napster (stealing is bad, children) and searched for the title. Sure enough, it exists! Actually, it just came back around on winamp. And I'm singing along with it.
The moral of this story? The song Glycerine exists, and Napster is kewl (copyright infringement is wrong).
